Mystery Stretch Goals & Give-Away Winners!
over 2 years ago – Fri, Jul 23, 2021 at 06:28:03 PM

Hi everybody! It's time to reveal the Mystery Stretch Goals and to take a look at what has been finished since the last update.

The Mystery Stretch Goals

Before we reveal these Goals, we want to point out that the idea behind these were to add extra things for the campaign, without any risk of them causing a delay.

For that reason, not all of these new additions are available in the same way as the "Regular Stretch Goals". More about that further down. Now to the exciting stuff first :D

  • 1. New Community Miniature Available: The Envoy
  • 2. New Community Miniature Available: The Bodyguard
  • 3. All Kingpin & All-in Backers gain an additional Character Art Print (6 in total)
  • 4. New Add-on Miniature Available: Gertrud the Gong Farmer
  • 5. A detailed map of Sven's Brewery & HQ, drawn by the talented Jérôme Huguenin. (Free digital download for all backers)
  • 6. New Add-on Miniature: Gerd the Gong Farmer Kid (Which means there's a whole family!)
  • 7. Pet Surprise! 200 Kingpin or All-in backers will randomly be selected to receive 1 out of 2 brand new pets!
The finished artwork of Ragnhild the Mutant

We'll have some more information on the new miniatures in the next update. Unfortunately the actual sculpts of the new miniatures won't be ready to be shown in the Pledge Manager and they can only be picked as Add-ons and not as part of your pledge. This will help us to avoid these new additions causing any delays for the rest of the project.

The Pledge Manager

We're working on the Pledge Manager! It will still take us a little while before we have it ready and we'll send out an update before it comes up with all relevant info. If you're new to Kickstarters, the Pledge Manager is where you'll be choosing the miniatures for your pledge, pick add-ons, type in your address and all of that! So until it is ready, you still don't have to do anything, keep a close eye on the next update for more information about the important stuff related to the Pledge Manager.

Two of the new Stretch Goal miniatures are based around the Gong Farmer from our last campaign. Back then we weren't 100% sure if it should be a male or female character, so Christian drew both! We thought it would be fun to add her to this campaign and that sort of led to adding Gerd the Gong Farmer Kid as well.

As the Gong Farmer Gaerhart was a random give-away miniature for the last campaign, we know that many of you who backed the Prancing Peacock Kickstarter might not have him and are planning on getting him as an add-on this time. Because of this, we have decided that we'll create a "Gong Farmer Bundle" in the Pledge Manager, where you can get the entire family at a discount.

The Community Miniatures

How does it work with the Community Miniatures? We wanted there to be a difference between the most voted character and the runner-ups. The main difference is that Antoinette the Duckoner comes with both a separate duck & duckling, so it's almost a little set.

The other difference is that Antoinette can be chosen as part of your pledge (As if she's one of the "regular miniatures" such as a member of Sven's gang, I'm sure she'd fit right in!), where the other 2 Community Miniatures are only available as Add-ons OR of course as your Community Miniature Choice.

The finished sculpt of Antoinette the Duckoner

Our plan is that if you are eligible to get the Community Miniature for free (Kingpin Early Bird & All-in Backers) once you go into the Pledge Manager in August, one of the first thing that should pop up will be a question about your Community Miniature choice. You can then choose any of the three Community Miniatures.

If you're not eligible for the Free Community Miniature, you can still choose Antoinette the Duckoner as one of the miniatures for your pledge, but the other two Community Miniatures can only be chosen as Add-ons,not as one of the available miniatures for your pledge. This will be the same case with the new Gong Farmer miniatures.

We understand that this may be annoying to some, but our main priority is that we can deliver all pledges on time, and the more miniatures we need to get cast of these "Late additions" the higher the risk for potential delays.

Having these additions as add-ons should make the numbers more manageable for us. Currently everything is looking really nice on the production side of things though and Sonny has been going at it this month, working on getting the last of the "Regular" miniatures ready for the Pledge Manager launch. So we're not really nervous about delays, but we still want to be cautious, just in case :)

Give-Away Winners

Time to announce the 2nd Give-Away Winners! We have decided that instead of picking 3 random miniatures as we did the first time, it will be the 3 miniatures on the picture. That way you might be able to avoid getting doubles when choosing your miniatures in the Pledge Manager.

What you see in the picture is what you'll receive!

The second round of Give-Away Winners are....drumroll...

  • Per-Philip Sollin
  • Brenton
  • Thomas Grable
  • NIIIRM

Please send us a message here on Kickstarter with your address and we'll get the parcels sent out to you as soon as the latest batch of mugs arrive :)

The finished sculpt of Harald the Mutant

That's it for this time! The next update will be about the Pledge Manager. We're not 100% sure when it will be launched, but we're still aiming for early'ish August.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Important Message
almost 3 years ago – Mon, Jul 12, 2021 at 01:40:39 AM

Hey everybody! Thanks again for a great campaign, Nana and I had a chance to celebrate the campaign in the weekend, which mainly consisted of relaxing :)

We had originally not planned on writing about the subject of this update, but it appears that several of you have run into issues with the payment and we feel that we have to mention this.

Payment Issues

Because of the new rules in EU with authentication on Card Transactions, it seems that many of you are having some issues with payment for the project. We don't know how many of you are actually affected or experiencing this as the authentication problem isn't shown as an "Errored Pledge" to us, so this is only based on the messages we have received.

Please check to see if you have received an email titled: Please authenticate your pledge for The Kingpin of Dunkeldorf

If you have received such an email, you need to log into your Kickstarter profile and confirm the payment. If you experience any problems with this, just send us a message and we'll help out!

You only have two days left to do this, otherwise your pledge will be dropped and there's nothing we can do to help with it, as all of that is handled by Kickstarter.

There are still 12 backers with "Regular" failed payments, there's only 3 days remaining to get this sorted out, so please remember to do so if you don't want to lose your pledge!

Please note: If you log into your Kickstarter account and you see a Red Bar in the top of the screen, then you might be having one of the issues above. If there's no Red Bar after logging into Kickstarter, then everything should be just fine :)

Unrelated Stuff

We hadn't planned on writing an update so soon after the end of the campaign, so unfortunately there's not a lot of stuff to show or talk about! But we do have a few WIP pictures of Martha.

WIP of Martha (The Schnövsen apparently wanted to be seen as well)

In the next update we'll talk about the Mystery/Surprise Stretch Goals that we unlocked in the final days of the campaign and we should have some things to show as well!

That's it for this time. Sorry about the lackluster update, but you still have to admit that Martha is looking pretty sweet so far! :D

Thank you! - What a great finish!
almost 3 years ago – Mon, Jul 05, 2021 at 10:44:07 PM

Hi everybody! Thank you all for a wonderful campaign and what a great finish we had here at the end! This means that we'll have 7 Surprise Stretch Goals (Some may include more than one thing!) to show you later in July :D

Our Awesome Community

Thank you so much to all of you who have helped spread the word about the Kickstarter and also those of you who wanted to help us paint up some of the new miniatures and show them where you could!

Painted by Kuba (Picassawi on Instagram)
Painted by Nick (Goblinkeep on Instagram)
Painted by Lina Witzner
Painted by Paul (Toomuchdevlan_minipainting on Instagram)
Painted by Michal (Dwarf_Crypt on Instagram)
Painted by Garrett Sheehan
Painted by Jonathan Koch (Finiatures on Instagram)

One final Community photo of Johannes Koch shown below! This one is also painted by Jonathan Koch. Some of you might know that we have named a character in each Dunkeldorf campaign after one of our friends and backers. The first campaign we had Linus Witzner (Lina Witzner), the second campaign we had the Gong Farmer Gaerhart Scheeman (This one might be a bit of a stretch, but it's based on Garrett Sheehan's name and Nana and I practically pronounce Gaerhart Scheeman sort of slurrish and peasant-like so it almost sounds like Garrett Sheehan when we're saying it :D)

Anyway, back to Johannes. Since many of the names we use for Dunkeldorf are German names, and since Jonathan is from Germany and has a pretty slick surname, it really made sense to name a character after him! (Watch out Mr. Schwager, you might be next! :D)

Johannes Koch, painted by Jonathan Koch What a strange coincidence!

I talked to Jonathan about the character and he suggested Johannes, but also thought that a middle name would be nice! We haven't used that in this campaign as there's not a lot of space for longer names, but in the Dunkeldorf canon (And for the future Dunkeldorf RPG book) his full name is Johannes Konrad Koch!

Thanks for the magnificent paint jobs by all of you! Remember that we have the "Dunkeldorf Community on Facebook, if you want to say hi!

Failed Payments

It always happens after a Kickstarter campaign that some payments have not gone through, this could be for several reasons. Kickstarter should inform you about this. As far as I know, you should receive an email if your payment has failed and then you'll have a few days to update your payment info. Please check your emails to see if you should have received one, because if you miss it, your pledge will be dropped by Kickstarter and it'll complicate things quite a bit in terms of getting your reward!

Currently there are 41 backers with failed payments (So you might very well be one of them!). Do let us know if you are experiencing any problems with this that you can't seem to fix yourself, we'll see if we can help somehow :)

What's the Plan?

Well! We didn't quite manage to cover everything that we had hoped during the Kickstarter. Despite this being the third Dunkeldorf Kickstarter, I seem to always underestimate how long it takes to take photos and write updates. We'll tell more about the Mutants and the Witch Hunters & Mercenaries in future updates between now and fulfillment, and they'll definitely be covered more in our planned book as well!

We also didn't have time to prepare all the bundles based around the content from our past Kickstarters. We'll have more information about all of this when we're about to launch the Pledge Manager. As mentioned before there'll be plenty of options for those of you who have only just discovered Dunkeldorf! :)

Right now we'll relax for a few days and next week we'll make some progress on the Surprise Stretch Goals. Over the upcoming weeks I will be working on the Pledge Manager which will be launched in early August, we don't want to rush this as we have a lot of things in it and it will take us a bit of time to set up properly!

We'll be back with the first "Post-Campaign" update soon! We'll also be announcing the second wave of give-away winners from update #8 soon!

On behalf of the entire Dunkeldorf Team: THANK YOU for a wonderful campaign ❤️

All-in Pledges & Pictures!
almost 3 years ago – Fri, Jul 02, 2021 at 02:02:49 AM

Hi everybody! We're in the final two days of the campaign and we still have a bunch to show!

This update will mostly be about the newly added "All-in Pledges". Since we have almost unlocked the 300.000 Stretch Goal, we have decided to include the Schnövsen Familiar Stretch Goal with the Kingpin & All-in Pledges!

Finished Stretch Goal Miniatures

Before we get to the All-in Pledges, we wanted to show an overview of the 9 finished Stretch Goal sculpts so far! The two hand sculpted miniatures in Green Stuff are by Alessio Cisbani who have both drawn and sculpted Walther & Vogel. The rest are sculpted by Sonny as usual!

The All-in Pledges:

These pledges are an easy way to get all of the new things from this campaign without having to think too much about add-ons and selecting miniatures. You'll also be getting them at an increased discount.

Should you wish to go for an All-in Pledge, you can either upgrade your pledge on Kickstarter before the end of the campaign OR you can upgrade it in the Pledge Manager once it is launched. The only difference is that any further funds added on Kickstarter will go towards unlocking Stretch Goals (Including the Surprise Goals that we talked about in the previous update).

The two new All-in Pledges receive the same free Stretch Goals as the Kingpin pledge, and they both count as an Early Bird Pledge as well, which means that the Community Miniature will be added for free.

Kingpin All-in: The Miniatures (The content below is with all Stretch Goals included as well)

  • 26 Standard Miniatures (Stretch Goal & Community Miniature Included)
  • Martha the Ogre Mercenary
  • 6 Pets/Familiars
  • 10 Accessories
  • 5 Art Prints (A5 format)

Price: 775 DKK / Approximately: 105€ / 124$ / 90£

Kingpin All-in: Everything

  • 26 Standard Miniatures (Stretch Goal & Community Miniature Included)
  • Martha the Ogre Mercenary
  • 6 Pets/Familiars
  • 10 Accessories
  • 5 Art Prints (A5 format)
  • Sven's Stand
  • Sven's Bitter Bundle (Table, Sign & Sven's Bitter Set)
  • Icons Set
  • 8 Barrels & 6 Crates
  • Dunkeldorf Botany & Dunkeldorf Flowers

Price: 1100 DKK Approximately: 148€ / 175$ / 127£

Some of us prefer to get our text together with pictures, so if all those lines above made you cross-eyed, you can see it all in a nice picture overview below instead ;)

We haven't had time to make the Bundle Options from our past Kickstarters ready, so we won't have more info on those until the Pledge Manager opens up later on. But remember that any additional funds added here on Kickstarter, can be spent on Add-ons, Bundles & Shipping in the Pledge Manager.

Pictures!

We have a bunch of stuff to show, but as we would like to get this update out as early as possible, we'll have to cut down on the text. So here's a bunch of pictures of some of the latest stuff!

The painted version of Esther the Zealot

A closer look at Vogel & Walther

The Kingpin Pledge

One more picture! This is what all Kingpin Backers are currently getting for free with their pledge! The Schnövsen will be added as well, even if we shouldn't reach 300.000! If we go over 300.000, we'll have the surprise Stretch Goals that we mentioned in the last update. We'll tell more about those soon!

Schnövsen not shown, but it is included!

We have JUST added the new All-in Pledges. If you're interested in such a pledge, you can upgrade to one of them on Kickstarter page now, or you can instead upgrade to one in the Pledge Manager later on!

We'll be back with another update soon and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions :)

Community Miniature Results & More
almost 3 years ago – Wed, Jun 30, 2021 at 11:38:39 AM

Hi everybody! We're in the final few days of the campaign and boy does time fly! We had hoped to include detailed information about all of the characters in updates during the campaign, but we seem to be running out of time! We'll get back to some of the characters in post-campaign updates.

The Community Miniature

Thank you all for casting your vote! Before we disappoint anyone with the result, we wanted to let you know that you may not have seen the last to the runner-ups, but we can't promise anything definitive just yet.

The Duckoner got the most votes and will be the Community Miniature!

If we end up not having seen the last to the Envoy & Bodyguard, then we'll of course make sure that the Duckoner gets a bit of extra attention since she got the most votes!

The Final Days

1. All-in Pledges

On Wednesday we will be adding the "All-in" pledges here on Kickstarter, and we'll write about all the details. But here's a quick summary:

  • The All-in Pledges will be larger pledges that contain Add-ons and all the miniatures from this campaign. It's an easy way to get all of the new things and at the same time get them at a further discount.
  • The All-in Pledges counts as an Early Bird pledge - So if you upgrade from your Early Bird Pledge, you will still receive the Community Miniature for free.
  • None of the content from our previous Kickstarters are included in these pledges, but there will be bundle options/Add-ons dedicated to the past campaigns in the Pledge Manager. Such a bundle is shown below.
  • The next update will tell you everything you need to know about upgrading to such a pledge (And remember that you can always upgrade in the Pledge Manager instead)
"The Tavern Bundle" which will be available in the Pledge Manager

2. The Stretch Goals

We still have a few Stretch Goals left to unlock, and we're hoping that these will be unlocked in the final week! Should we finish strong and go over 300.000, we have planned a few "Surprise Goals". For every 10.000 DKK over 300.000, we unlock such a goal!

The reason for keeping these goals secret is that we want to make sure that we can deliver the pledges on time, and this method allows us more time to decide on what to include without risking delays.

Any unlocked "Surprise Goals" will be revealed in a future KS update coming out in July. One goal may include more than one thing.

Andreas "Zahnfee" & Agnes "Fleischer"

Andreas "Zahnfee" has a somewhat weird "hobby" as he collects teeth. It began when he was younger, and during his very first fight, knocked out two teeth of a much older opponent. Andreas collected them from the ground and put them in his little pouch where he used to keep his mid-day snack.

Since then he has been strangely fascinated by teeth and will always try to gather a least one from every fight he's in. He does however have a rule; a tooth that isn't knocked out by his own fists is "no good tooth".

Over the years Andreas' collection of teeth has grown in size and he has now begun "displaying" the most pretty and memorable of them in his small room in the Brewery/HQ, as he has to make space for new teeth in his pouch.

Andreas is of course also known for basically being a giant.. Not quite an ogre, though many mistake him for one. He's one of Sven's best "Soldiers", but just like an ogre, he may be a bit slow in the head at times and often has a hard time understanding all the complexities in Sven's plans.

Agnes "Fleischer" used to be a respectable butcher having her own butcher's shop in Dunkeldorf, but after Sven convinced her to be paid in Sven's Bitter instead of coins about a year ago, things took a drastic turn for Agnes. She's now a shadow of her former self and the only things she butchers now are the occasional meals she prepares for the rest of the gang (They're horrible, and Sven is currently looking for a proper cook to join the DB ranks - It seems that her food were a lot better before she started drinking Sven's Bitter).

If someone were to sabotage Sven's brewing operation and destroy the vast supplies of Sven's Bitter, Agnes might suddenly wake up and realize that things were certainly better when she just had to sell more sausages than the incompetent dwarven butcher "Gowak".

Finished Stretch Goal Miniatures

This is where the "Running out of time" thing comes in! We'll try to squeeze in as much as possible in the last updates before the end of the campaign, we'll get back to some of these characters in post-campaign updates when they're painted up!

Miriam Krieger, the former soldier who's now working as a mercenary for the Witch Hunters, Engel & Johannes. Miriam is the first modular miniature in the Dunkeldorf range, and she comes with head and arm swap options. It's a set in 6 parts, as the sword on her back is not attached to the miniature either.

Ragnhild the Mutant is a terrifying, blood thirsty mutant who dwells in the Gruselwald Forest and gradually loses more and more of her humanity. She has been mutated for several years, but her mutations grow more severe every time The Blood Moon rises over Dunkeldorf. This year, for the first time ever, the Blood Moon continues to linger in the sky, night after night. Ragnhild sees this as a good omen, and knows that now is the time to strike and slaughter those who would have her killed on sight.

Speaking of mutants, we just received a parcel containing Walther & Vogel, both of these are drawn and sculpted by Alessio Cisbani. The sculpts look awesome and we'll show pictures of both very soon!

That's it for now. We'll be back again soon with another update :) - Stretch Goals & Kickstarter graphics will be updated soon!
